Scholarships at University of Pikeville

The Pikeville Medical Center and UPIKE Elliott School of Nursing Workforce Investment ADN Scholarship awards $24,700 per year for up to two years to Kentucky residents pursuing an Associate Degree in Nursing at the University of Pikeville. Eligible applicants need a minimum ACT composite of 21, demonstrated financial need, and strong interest in future employment at Pikeville Medical Center. Recipients sign a service agreement matching one year of PMC employment per academic year funded. Selected students must maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA throughout enrollment. The University of Pikeville Alumni Association Scholarship awards up to $2,000 for one academic year ($1,000 per semester) to one full-time undergraduate pursuing a four-year degree who has an immediate relative who is a UPIKE alumna or alumnus. Preference goes to applicants with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Recipients must submit an essay on how the scholarship would benefit them and enhance their student experience. A 3.0 GPA must be maintained during the fall semester for spring continuation. Past recipients may reapply annually. Application deadline is August 1.

The ACE First Generation Scholarship provides $1,000 for one year to a first-generation undergraduate at the University of Pikeville who demonstrates financial need, with preference for members of the ACE Program. Recipients must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA. One new student is selected each year through the university scholarship committee after submitting an application and essay on what it means to be a first-generation student. The award helps offset tuition and on-campus living expenses. The application window opens October 1 and closes October 15 annually.

The Presidential Fellow Scholarship is a full-ride award at the University of Pikeville that includes room and board and renews up to eight semesters or until a bachelor's degree is completed. Candidates need a minimum 3.75 unweighted high school GPA, ACT 28 or SAT 1300 or higher, and 50 documented community service hours before high school graduation. Applicants submit a personal statement to scholarships@upike.edu addressing why they want to attend UPIKE, career goals, and leadership skills, then finalists interview with a scholarship committee. Preference is given to Kentucky residents who commit to 10 hours of weekly on-campus work.
