Scholarships at SUNY Polytechnic Institute

Voya Scholars for Mental Health assists SUNY Polytechnic Institute undergraduates pursuing psychology, social work, or psychiatric nursing degrees within the SUNY system. SUNY Poly lists up to five annual awards of ten thousand dollars for students planning full-time enrollment who demonstrate academic merit and financial need verified by Scholarship America. Awards are not automatically renewable, but eligible students may reapply in later years. Applications are submitted through Scholarship America's Voya Scholars portal and require transcripts, tax documentation, a resume, essays, and recommendation materials as specified by the sponsor.

The Dr. Naseem Qazi and Dr. Sala Qazi Scholarship supports a SUNY Polytechnic Institute undergraduate who is academically disadvantaged and demonstrates financial need by filing a FAFSA and qualifying for a Federal Pell Grant. Preference is given to applicants enrolled in a STEM program and to applicants with a refugee background. Recipients may be considered for renewal by submitting a new application each academic year. Applications open February 1 annually and are due March 1, with awards announced in early April through the SUNY Poly admissions and financial aid process.

The SUNY Empire State Diversity Honors Scholarship Program at SUNY Polytechnic Institute provides aid to undergraduate students who have demonstrated academic achievement while overcoming a disadvantage or other impediment to success in higher education. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and New York State residents who explain how they contribute to campus diversity, equity, and inclusion through academic programs or activities. Financial need is not required but economic disadvantage may be used as an eligibility basis. Submit the Empire State Diversity Honors Scholarship Program application by June 1 each year; preference is given to first-generation, low-income, veteran, and AmeriCorps alumni candidates.
