Scholarships at Randolph-Macon College

Randolph-Macon College Pre-Ministerial Grants support undergraduates preparing for full-time church-related vocations in denominations approved by the college after graduation. Recipients receive grants equal to one-half of tuition for all four years when eligible. Each student must furnish a recommendation from the appropriate pastor, local church, charge conference, or ecclesiastical authority and sign a promissory note promising to repay the grant if they do not enter church-related work. This grant cannot be combined with the A. Purnell Bailey Scholarship or other Randolph-Macon academic merit scholarships.

Student performers at Randolph-Macon College in voice, instrument, technical theatre, acting, or show choir may compete for performing arts scholarships. Students from any major are welcome to audition. Selected performers receive a merit scholarship for participating in the college's performing arts community. Award amounts vary by discipline and selection. Audition in one or more eligible disciplines and submit required audition materials. No music or theatre major is required.

The Refer a Yellow Jacket Grant awards one thousand dollars per year for up to four years to students referred to Randolph-Macon by alumni, students, faculty, staff, or community ambassadors and subsequently admitted in good standing. Referrals are submitted through the alumni referral form by November 1 for spring entrants, May 1 for fall transfer entrants, or anytime for ninth through eleventh graders. Legacy students eligible for the Alumni Legacy Grant instead receive that award rather than a referral grant. If multiple referrers submit a student, only the first referral receives credit.

The Dr. Paul H. Wornom Pre-Medicine Fellowship provides a full-tuition scholarship to up to two exceptionally talented incoming first-year Randolph-Macon students committed to completing pre-med coursework and applying to medical school. Wornom Fellows work with the pre-medical advisory committee, pursue faculty-guided research that may include conference presentations, and access shadowing, internship, and MCAT preparation support funded through the endowment established by 1937 alumnus Dr. Paul H. Wornom. Fellows are selected for academic excellence and demonstrated dedication to a medical career path.
