Scholarships at Purdue University

The Eugene Carter Foundation Opportunity Award provides twenty thousand dollars to select Purdue Engineering sophomores or juniors who participate in Purdue's Women in Engineering Program or Society of Women Engineers and also participate in Latinos in Science and Engineering and/or the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. Academic accomplishment is not the primary selection criterion and no minimum GPA is required. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through the College of Engineering. The award recognizes engineering students engaged across multiple diversity-focused professional organizations at Purdue.

The Department of Computer Science at Purdue awards up to two five hundred dollar scholarships to incoming undergraduates who received the National Center for Women and Information Technology Award for Aspirations in Computing in the year prior to enrolling at Purdue. Recipients must document their NCWIT AiC award to the department scholarship liaison. The scholarship supports women and gender-minority students entering Purdue's computer science, data science, or artificial intelligence programs. This is a one-time award for first-year students verified as NCWIT AiC winners before their first fall semester.

The Grubbs Undergraduate Research Scholarship grants two hundred dollars through the Division of Financial Aid to up to ten BME undergraduates who complete three credits of BME 498 research and present findings at a recognized conference such as BMES or a Purdue research conference. Preferred candidates maintain a GPA of 3.7 or higher. This award recognizes students who fulfill undergraduate research requirements and disseminate their biomedical engineering work publicly. The Hageman FFA Agriculture Scholarship is sponsored by Steve and Sandra Hageman for undergraduate students in Purdue's College of Agriculture. Selection prioritizes students who served as Indiana State FFA Officers, along with financial need and academic merit. Applicants must complete the FAFSA and the College of Agriculture scholarship application. Awards are made through holistic review and are not automatically renewable; students reapply annually. The Colonel Fletcher P. Jaquess Memorial Scholarship Fund honors a distinguished military leader and agriculture teacher by supporting incoming freshmen in Purdue's College of Agriculture. Selection considers academic merit and residency in Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, or Warrick counties in Indiana. Applicants complete the College of Agriculture scholarship application for incoming students. This memorial scholarship connects southwest Indiana agriculture communities with Purdue's undergraduate agriculture programs, prioritizing strong academic records from eligible Indiana high school graduates entering the college.

The Charles Wayne Sullivan Scholarship supports rising juniors in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue who have completed their sophomore year with strong academic records. Preferred candidates hold a GPA of 3.7 or higher. Applicants submit the annual BME Qualtrics scholarship survey near the end of fall semester, including a personal statement and at least one faculty or staff letter of recommendation. Selection weighs academic excellence and letters of recommendation heavily. Recipients are notified by the scholarship coordinator and may be asked to write thank-you letters to donors.

The Robert K. Carter Scholarship supports an out-of-state undergraduate in their junior year in Purdue's Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering. Students apply through the school's unified undergraduate scholarship application submitted electronically to the Undergraduate Office by April each year. Recipients are notified by late summer and funds apply to the following academic year.
