Scholarships at Pepperdine University

The Chris and Amy Doran Climate Fellowship at Seaver College supports one rising junior or senior each year who is committed to educating the Pepperdine community about anthropogenic climate change. The fellow receives a seven thousand five hundred dollar scholarship, enrolls in year-long directed study with a faculty mentor, and presents findings at the Climate Calling Research event. Projects must elucidate climate effects or directly mitigate Pepperdine's climate impact and be explainable to a general audience. Applicants need more than sixty units, a preferred 3.0 GPA, a two-page proposal, and faculty support submitted by March 22.

The Andy and Debby Benton Endowed Scholarship provides five thousand dollars annually to Seaver College undergraduates who are dedicated, active members of Churches of Christ from across the country. Pepperdine Legacy Partners awards these scholarships to students demonstrating faith, service, and leadership within their congregations. Recipients are encouraged to reapply each year by maintaining involvement in a local Church of Christ and campus spiritual life at Pepperdine. The Pepperdine Grant is a need-based institutional grant from University resources offered to Seaver College students who qualify at admission based on financial need demonstrated on the FAFSA. The grant is awarded at admission, remains the same dollar amount year to year, and renews for up to four years while students maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress. Incoming students must submit a correct FAFSA to Pepperdine by February 15 for fall admission or October 15 for spring admission. The grant applies to tuition and is prorated below full-time enrollment.

The Seaver College Faculty-Staff Scholarship recognizes continuing undergraduates with strong academic merit who have completed at least twelve units at Pepperdine and hold a 3.500 GPA or higher. Recipients are selected by division Admissions and Scholarship Committees based on academic performance, a short essay on growth in purpose, service, or leadership aligned with Pepperdine's mission, and two faculty or staff recommendations. Awards apply to tuition for the academic year only; previous recipients may reapply. Applications are due by 5 PM on March 18 through the online application portal opening February 25.

The Michael R. Summers Memorial Scholarship honors a member of the Pepperdine business community through competitive awards for Seaver College business administration students. Like the Maxy Pope Alles Scholarship, awards vary in amount, consider both merit and need, and fund one academic year with reapplication allowed for prior recipients. Eligible applicants are fully admitted accounting, business administration, finance, or international business majors, or pre-majors with thirty units at Pepperdine. The business division administers annual applications; amounts and deadlines are posted on the business scholarships page each cycle.

The Hinds, Paul and Ruth Scholarship at Seaver College supports undergraduate students studying to become missionaries for the Church of Christ. Recipients are chosen by the Religion and Philosophy Grant Committee based on academic performance in the religion major. Students who have additional financial need or wish to be considered should contact the Religion and Philosophy Divisional Dean by email. This endowed scholarship is part of Pepperdine's religion division aid for students pursuing ministry careers within the Churches of Christ tradition aligned with the university's founding mission.
