Scholarships at Oregon State University

The Construction Industry Empowerment Scholarship Program supports first-generation, high financial need Oregon State engineering students committed to careers in construction. Scholars receive ten thousand dollars per academic year, with eight thousand dollars applied to tuition and fees and two thousand dollars for experiential opportunities such as internships and conferences. Launched in 2022 by the School of Civil and Construction Engineering with industry partners, the program couples financial support with peer guidance through the college experience. Students apply through OSU ScholarDollars via the College of Engineering scholarship application during the November 1 through February 15 annual cycle.

The Alexei Lubchenco Menge Fellowship supports one Oregon State biology or zoology undergraduate each summer conducting ecology field research under an Integrative Biology faculty mentor. The fellowship, founded in memory of Alexei Lubchenco Menge, facilitates transformative field research experiences for emerging scientists. Students apply through the SURE Science application, selecting the Alexei Lubchenco Menge Fellowship checkbox, and include an unofficial transcript plus a faculty mentor support letter emailed to the program coordinator by the March 2 deadline. Unselected fellowship applicants remain eligible for general SURE Science funding. Biology and zoology majors engaging in field-based research are eligible.

The Diversity Achievement Scholarship for freshmen recognizes new first-year Oregon State students whose activities promote inclusion of diverse lived experiences and removal of barriers to educational access. Recipients may receive up to three thousand dollars annually, renewable for one additional year for two years of total funding. Selection weighs community inclusion work and potential to contribute to an inclusive OSU campus, with preferential consideration for applicants demonstrating financial need. Students apply through OSU ScholarDollars with a personal statement between November 1 and March 1. Must be admitted to OSU before accessing ScholarDollars.

The National Scholars Award is a highly competitive renewable scholarship for approximately ten incoming Oregon State first-year students who earned national or global recognition in high school. Examples include National Merit Semifinalist or Finalist, National AP Scholar, Scholastic Art and Writing Award, U.S. Presidential Scholar, or National Security Language Initiative for Youth participation. Recipients receive up to two thousand dollars annually, renewable for up to three additional years. Students apply through OSU ScholarDollars between November 1 and March 1 and must provide verification of the recognition or award.
