Scholarships at University of Oregon

The Duck Excellence Scholarship for continuing and transfer students recognizes enrolled domestic undergraduates who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and contribute cultural perspectives that enrich the UO community. Recipients receive seven thousand five hundred dollars per year split evenly across terms. Continuing UO students apply through the UO Scholarship Dashboard by March 2 with a reference letter and FAFSA or ORSAA filed by March 1. Transfer students apply for UO admission by March 15 and submit the Duck Excellence application by April 1 with transcripts due April 1. Preference is given to students with financial need, first-generation students, and Oregon residents.

Outstanding domestic first-year applicants to the University of Oregon with a minimum 3.85 GPA and demonstrated leadership, service, and innovation may compete for the Stamps Scholarship. Approximately 20 students are selected annually, including 10 Oregon residents and 10 nonresidents. This merit award covers full tuition and fees, plus enrichment funds up to $12,000 over four years. Oregon residents also receive food and housing support. Apply for early-action admission by November 1 and complete the separate Stamps application in the UO Scholarship Dashboard by November 12. The Stamps Scholarship is the university's most prestigious undergraduate merit award, offered in partnership with the Stamps Scholars Program.

The Home Flight Scholarship covers full tuition and fees for undergraduate Oregon residents who are enrolled citizens of a federally recognized tribe, as part of the broader Home Flight Scholars Program supporting American Indian and Alaska Native students. Tuition and fees are covered through a combination of federal grants, state grants, and university grants and scholarships; housing, food, and books are not included. Incoming students apply for UO admission, obtain a UO Student ID, and submit a Home Flight Scholarship application through the UO Scholarship Dashboard with a FAFSA or ORSAA on file. Current students may apply at least two weeks before a term starts. Scholars maintain eligibility by filing FAFSA or ORSAA annually and satisfactory academic progress.
