Scholarships at Oklahoma City University

The Computer Science Fellows Program offers a ten-thousand-dollar scholarship to select high-achieving first-time full-time students entering Oklahoma City University's Computer Science program with a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.60. Fellows participate in internships, interdisciplinary learning, and professional development across four years. The award stacks with most university scholarships up to full tuition but not with the OKCPS, Clara Luper, or American Indian scholarships. Oklahoma City University Speech and Debate Scholarships provide between fifteen hundred and three thousand dollars annually toward tuition for students who participate in competitive speech and debate. Awards stack with university merit and talent scholarships up to the tuition block but do not cover fees, room, or board. Applicants must complete all competitive scholarship materials by December 15, including admission application, transcript, resume, and two recommendation letters. Students in performing arts may combine this award with merit and talent scholarships subject to stacking limits.

The American Indian Scholarship supports enrolled members of federally recognized tribes who enter Oklahoma City University directly from high school as full-time first-year students. After federal and state grants, it covers remaining block tuition, a university standard room, and Meal Plan B or D for up to eight consecutive semesters. Scholars participate in the President's Leadership Class with Native and non-Native service activities. Applicants need at least a 3.0 GPA, demonstrated FAFSA financial need, and must complete all materials by December 15.

The Bishop's Scholar Award provides up to full tuition for four years to United Methodist first-year students admitted to Oklahoma City University by December 15 who enroll full time in the Wimberly School of Religion. Recipients must live on campus all four years, maintain a 3.0 GPA, obtain a recommendation from their senior pastor or youth minister, and actively lead campus religious life including weekly chapel. Scholars plan careers in church and community service. Religion scholarships apply after other aid and are generally not stackable with other university awards.

The Native American Business Academy Scholarship, funded through a Chickasaw Nation partnership with Oklahoma City University, provides full tuition to five qualified Chickasaw students entering the Meinders School of Business. Recipients join the Native American Business Scholars Academy with seminars on Native business issues, internships, mentorships, and community service. Applicants submit a resume, photo from a service project, and a thousand-word essay on how tribal scholarship support helps achieve long-term goals. The Wanda L. Bass School of Music offers talent scholarships to students admitted to music programs after a successful audition. Applicants may audition in person, live virtually, or by recorded submission following school audition guidelines. Awards may be combined with automatic academic merit scholarships but not to exceed the cost of block tuition. Prospective music students should complete OCU admission and schedule an audition through the music school to be considered for talent-based institutional aid.
