Scholarships at Northwest Missouri State University

The Piveral Wake Mitchell Scholarship awards one thousand dollars to Northwest Missouri State University students pursuing a degree in the School of Education who maintain at least a 2.75 grade-point average. Don and Dr. Joyce Piveral pledged at least thirty-three thousand dollars to establish the fund honoring Joyce's mother Hazel Eileen Mitchell Wake and the family's long teacher-preparation legacy at Northwest. A selection committee determines the number of awards each year using academic achievement and financial need. Students apply through the Standard Scholarship Application in CatPAWS due February 1, with awards decided in February for the following academic year.

Full-time Northwest Missouri State University students taking at least 12 credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA who practice and compete in esports six hours per week, live on campus their first year, and are passionate about competitive gaming may qualify. Award amounts vary and are determined by the esports coach based on skill and team contribution. Submit the esports interest form to be considered. Northwest aims to build a gaming community for competitive, casual, and new players alike.

The E.G. and Mary Faust Scholarship at Northwest Missouri State University honors the late parents of alumnus and Northwest Foundation leader Michael Faust and supports graduates of Atlantic High School in Atlantic, Iowa, who enroll at Northwest. Michael Faust established the fund using part of his inheritance so his parents would be remembered in their hometown while benefiting future Bearcats. Recipients are chosen through the Northwest Foundation scholarship process administered with the Standard Scholarship Application in CatPAWS. The award has supported students such as elementary and special education majors and continues as an annual endowed scholarship for Iowa high school graduates attending Northwest.
