Scholarships at University of North Alabama

UNA offers a two thousand dollar per year merit scholarship to graduating high school seniors who competed on a BEST Robotics, FIRST Robotics Competition, or FIRST Tech Challenge team during high school. Applicants must apply and be accepted to UNA as full-time undergraduates, complete the BEST or FIRST scholarship application, submit a one-page essay on robotics participation and career influence, and provide a recommendation from an adult team leader by March 1 of the senior year. Priority is given to engineering and engineering technology majors, but all STEM majors may apply. The scholarship renews up to three additional years with a 3.0 cumulative GPA and twenty-seven credit hours per year.

UNA awards a one-year stackable one thousand dollar scholarship to incoming freshmen documented as valedictorian or salutatorian of their high school graduating class. Eligible students must apply for UNA admission, meet excellence scholarship deadlines, hold a minimum ACT score of 20, and have a high school official submit a letter confirming first- or second-rank class standing. Home-schooled students are not eligible. The award stacks with other UNA excellence scholarships subject to cost-of-attendance limits. Payment begins in the fall semester for students entering UNA immediately after high school graduation.

The Scholarship of Distinction in Computing and Data Analytics provides up to full tuition for outstanding students in UNA computing majors including Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Analytics, and Information Technology. These awards are designed for high-performing students in applied computing programs and require a separate Scholarships of Distinction application. Recipients are not stackable with UNA academic or presidential merit scholarships. The program emphasizes hands-on learning preparing graduates for software engineering, data analysis, information security, and related careers. Renewal follows Scholarships of Distinction probation and performance standards.

The NAMC Scholars Program awards five scholarships covering one hundred percent of tuition and fees for students in the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions at UNA. Recipients commit to work at North Alabama Medical Center for a service period equal to the time they received subsidized tuition and fees after graduation. Applications are accepted through the program's established application process for nursing and health professions students. The partnership supports workforce development in north Alabama healthcare while reducing financial barriers for nursing students training at UNA.

The Elizabeth Craig Hill Endowed Scholarship supports UNA students with preference for upperclassmen majoring in English who demonstrate financial need under university need-based guidelines. Applicants must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and apply through the UNA AcademicWorks general scholarship application by the first Monday in February deadline used for English department awards. Dollar amounts vary with endowment earnings and are not automatically renewed. Students email separate application materials to the English department following posted instructions for endowed English scholarships.
