Scholarships at University of Memphis

The First Scholars Program at the University of Memphis supports first-generation freshmen on the Central Campus with personalized coaching, peer mentoring, and an annual five-thousand-dollar scholarship renewable for twenty thousand dollars over four years. Eligible students must be incoming full-time freshmen whose parents did not earn a post-secondary degree, demonstrate financial need, complete the FAFSA, and be admitted to the university. Applicants submit a separate First Scholars application in Tiger Scholarship Manager, with the application closing March 13. The award cannot be combined with Presidential, Provost, or Emerging Leaders scholarships.

The UofM Community College Transfer Scholarship provides three thousand dollars annually to competitively selected transfer students graduating from an accredited community college with their first associate degree. Applicants must be admitted to the University of Memphis, hold a minimum 3.25 cumulative transfer GPA, and submit final transcripts showing the earned degree. The award pays fifteen hundred dollars per semester and may renew for three semesters. Students apply through Tiger Scholarship Manager by June 30 for fall awards or January 5 for spring awards. Funding is contingent on availability for fall and spring terms only.

The UofM Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship recognizes community college transfer students who earn their first associate degree and hold Phi Theta Kappa membership. Applicants must be admitted to the University of Memphis, present PTK membership documentation, maintain a minimum 3.25 cumulative transfer GPA, and submit final degree transcripts. The award provides one thousand dollars annually as five hundred dollars per semester and may renew for three semesters. It is stackable with the Community College Transfer Scholarship. Apply through Tiger Scholarship Manager by June 30 for fall or January 5 for spring.

Incoming University of Memphis students (male and female) may apply for the TN-Beta chapter Balanced Man Scholarship. Applicants should show academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to health and well-being. Fraternity membership is not required. Award amounts and the number of recipients vary.
