Scholarships at Liberty University

The Alumni Legacy Award provides one thousand dollars per year for up to four years to new residential undergraduate students at Liberty University whose parent or guardian earned an undergraduate degree or higher from Liberty, including resident or online degrees but not certificates. Applicants must be federally dependent children, complete the Alumni Legacy Award application before freshman year, maintain full-time consecutive enrollment, and complete the FAFSA and VTAG application when applicable each year. Transfer students are eligible. Recipients must maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress. Only one Alumni Legacy Award is granted per student regardless of how many parents hold Liberty degrees.

The National Merit Semifinalist Scholarship at Liberty University provides full tuition after subtracting other non-loan institutional, FSEOG, and VTAG aid for up to four consecutive academic years. Semifinalists must be accepted into the Honors Scholars program and submit a National Merit Scholarship Corporation certificate with their application. Federal Pell Grant is not factored into the tuition offset calculation. Awards are limited to roughly fifty per year and are more competitive than standard Honors scholarships. Commended students should apply early for best results. Current students who did not receive this award at matriculation cannot apply retroactively.

The Valedictorian/Salutatorian Scholarship provides full tuition after subtracting other non-loan financial aid for up to four consecutive years to new residential undergraduates ranked first or second in their high school class. Applicants need an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher plus a 1350 SAT or 29 ACT, verified by a school administrator. Students must enroll directly at Liberty the fall after high school graduation and live in an on-campus residence hall the first academic year. Maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA each semester to renew. Submit the electronic application to ResidentScholarships@liberty.edu by April 1 and complete Financial Check-In by April 15 if selected.
