Scholarships at Lewis-Clark State College

The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health Scholarship Program supports Idaho resident Lewis-Clark State College students majoring in health care fields including nursing, radiographic science, kinesiology, social work, or medical assistant. Applicants must have sophomore standing with at least twenty-six completed credits and a cumulative college GPA of 3.25 or higher. The Financial Aid Office awards four thousand dollars annually based on financial need, with an additional one thousand dollars when recipients maintain a 3.75 GPA or better. The scholarship renews for up to three years while eligibility requirements are met each semester.

The Foundation Transfer Student Scholarship helps Idaho resident transfer students complete a bachelor's degree at Lewis-Clark State College. Established by the LC State Foundation, it supports new direct transfers with at least thirty transfer credits, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and full-time enrollment of twelve or more credits per semester. Preference goes to students transferring from partner Idaho and regional community colleges including North Idaho College, Community Colleges of Spokane, and College of Western Idaho. Recipients cannot concurrently hold other LC State merit-based scholarships. The award may renew for a second year with a 3.0 GPA and twelve credits per semester. Fall applications are due June 15.

The Dr. Helen Bernfield Foreign Language Study Abroad Endowed Scholarship offsets study-abroad expenses for Lewis-Clark State College students learning a language currently offered at LC State. Established in honor of Dr. Helen Cannon Bernfield, the endowed fund requires sophomore standing with at least a 2.75 GPA and at least one year of college-level instruction in the target language, with preference for two or more years completed. Applicants planning spring or summer abroad apply by the last business day in October; fall abroad applicants apply by the last business day in March. Submit the General Study Away Scholarship Application through International Programs.

The Out-of-State Non-Traditional Student Scholarship supports non-resident students at Lewis-Clark State College who returned to college after time away from high school. Applicants must have been out of high school for at least five years at initial LC State enrollment, hold a minimum 3.0 GPA, and enroll full time in twelve or more credits per semester in any major. Preference is given to students demonstrating financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Submit the fall application by March 1 or the spring application by December 15. This award is separate from the Idaho resident Non-Traditional Student Scholarship and uses its own application form.

The Study Abroad Endowed Scholarship helps Lewis-Clark State College students fund foreign language study abroad programs approved through LC State International Programs. Created in 1993 by Humanities Division faculty, the award supports students with sophomore standing, a minimum 2.75 GPA, and at least one year of college-level instruction in the target language, with preference for two or more years completed. Funds offset program expenses for languages offered at LC State. Spring and summer applicants submit materials by the last business day in October; fall applicants by the last business day in March using the General Study Away Scholarship Application.
