Scholarships at Kettering University

The Affinity Scholarship supports entering freshmen and transfer students admitted to Kettering University who have a family connection to the institution or a sibling currently enrolled. Students meeting both criteria receive three thousand dollars per year; meeting one criterion receives two thousand dollars per year. Financial need may be considered. Awards apply to tuition only and are renewable. Accepted students apply through Scholarship Universe on a rolling basis before beginning their first academic term at Kettering. Restrictions may apply to how the award is applied against tuition charges.

The Ford STEM Scholarship supports admitted incoming Kettering University students placed as paid co-op employees with Ford Product Development in Dearborn, Michigan. Applicants must reside in Flint or elsewhere in Michigan, remain continually enrolled with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Required materials include a 250-to-500-word essay on STEM career interest and Ford, a resume with GPA, and a completed FAFSA. Award amounts vary based on demonstrated need. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through Scholarship Universe until positions are filled.

The Lear Scholars Program provides additional financial support based on demonstrated need for children of Lear Corporation employees admitted to Kettering University. Selected scholars receive need-based scholarships, Lear co-op work placements in the United States, and full-time job opportunities with Lear upon graduation. U.S. accepted applicants must complete the FAFSA for the current year; non-U.S. applicants use the Federal Student Aid Estimator. Award amounts vary by need. Apply through Scholarship Universe after admission to Kettering's cooperative education program.

The Piston Group Co-op Scholarship Program covers remaining tuition, room, and board after all other gift aid for incoming freshmen and transfer students placed as paid co-op employees rotating among Piston Group companies. Eligible degree paths include electrical, industrial, mechanical, and general engineering programs at Kettering. Applicants must complete the FAFSA before submitting the scholarship application through Scholarship Universe. Demonstrated financial need is required and award amounts vary by individual need and aid packaging. Positions are awarded on a rolling basis until filled each academic year.
