Scholarships at Illinois Institute of Technology

The Illinois Tech VEX Robotics Scholarship awards five thousand dollars per year for up to four years, or five in architecture, to first-year students who participated at least one full season on a VEX Robotics team during junior or senior year of high school. Candidates apply via Early Decision or Early Action with a Common Application submitted by November 15 and document robotics involvement under Activities including team name and years. The scholarship stacks with Heald and other partial merit awards but not with full-tuition institutional scholarships. Recipients may pursue any major at Illinois Tech and renew annually while maintaining eligibility.

The Illinois Tech Esports Scholarship awards five thousand dollars per year for up to four years, or five in architecture, to first-year students committed to community-building and competitive esports at Illinois Institute of Technology. Candidates apply for admission by November 15, submit a one-page esports involvement essay through the scholarship form, and complete game-specific Illinois Tech Esports recruitment forms. Finalists connect on the ITE Discord, meet leadership in April, and demonstrate gameplay skills before recipients are notified. The scholarship cannot combine with full-tuition institutional awards such as Camras, Duchossois, or Collens.

U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or Dreamers enrolling as full-time first-year students at Illinois Institute of Technology may compete for the Camras Scholars Program, one of the university's highest undergraduate academic honors. Less than 1% of applicants are selected. Recipients receive full tuition based on first-year rates, renewable for up to four years (five for architecture students). The same dollar amount is awarded each year and does not adjust for tuition increases. Apply Early Action or Early Decision by November 15 with complete application materials. Finalists attend a February leadership symposium roundtable as part of the selection process.

The Duchossois Leadership Scholars Program is an elite Illinois Institute of Technology scholarship for U.S. citizens or permanent residents with minimum 3.5 high school GPA, exceptional leadership, and community service. Applicants submit Early Decision or Early Action admission materials by November 15 plus a supplemental application with a five-hundred-word leadership essay, résumé, and two recommendation letters. Finalists interview at the February Leadership Symposium. Benefits include full tuition for up to four years, housing and meal plan support for four years with a two-year on-campus residency requirement, funded summer experiences, annual retreats, and faculty mentoring. Households with adjusted gross income of three hundred thousand dollars or more are ineligible.
