Scholarships at Greenville University

The McAllaster Honors Scholarship provides four thousand dollars per year to students admitted to Greenville University's McAllaster Scholars honors program, which nurtures academically gifted students in Christian learning and research. Applicants need a high school GPA of 3.3 or higher, must first be accepted to Greenville, and then submit a McAllaster Scholars application reviewed on a rolling basis with decisions typically within one week. The program is limited to thirty students per year and requires on-campus residency. Scholars complete honors coursework, monthly meetings, the McAllaster Lecture, and a senior departmental honors research project to graduate as McAllaster Scholars.

The Richard Stephens Character Scholarship provides fifteen hundred to three thousand dollars per year to traditional freshmen and transfer students at Greenville University who demonstrate strong character and a record of service, with no GPA or test score requirement. Named for Greenville's eighth president, Dr. Richard Stephens, the award celebrates students who persevere toward long-term goals, serve others, and aim to make a positive difference. Stephens Scholars must live on campus and renew annually for up to four years. After acceptance, an admissions counselor invites qualified students to complete the Richard Stephens Character application as part of Greenville's supplemental scholarship process.

The Choral Scholarship awards five hundred to two thousand dollars per year to Greenville University students who participate for credit in the GU Choir during fall and spring semesters. Under the direction of Dr. Don Frazure, the choir performs challenging literature, takes mini-tours, and has traveled internationally. Students contact Choral Director Don Frazure to apply. The scholarship supports singers who commit to the ensemble's rehearsal and performance schedule. Full-time enrollment at Greenville is expected. This award is part of Greenville's membership scholarship program and stacks with automatic merit aid for traditional undergraduates.

The Church Match Scholarship Program, also called the Church Partnership Scholarship Program, matches up to one thousand dollars per year of funds a student's local church awards toward Greenville University tuition. The program encourages congregations to invest in members pursuing career and spiritual preparation at Greenville. It is available only to students enrolling in traditional on-campus undergraduate programs; online, non-traditional, and graduate enrollees are ineligible. Parents or immediate relatives of the recipient may not donate to the church's matching fund due to tax regulations. Greenville may adjust awards if church funds affect eligibility for other aid.
