Scholarships at Grand View University

The Nursing Honors Scholarship awards five thousand dollars per year to prospective or incoming first-year students interested in Grand View's nursing program who have a high school GPA of 3.85 or higher. Recipients must participate in the Nursing and Honors Program and attend one of Grand View's Scholarship Day events in November or February. The scholarship renews for four years if the student maintains full-time day enrollment and continuous enrollment in the pre-nursing and nursing curriculum. Nursing Honors combines provisional BSN admission with honors coursework and leadership development for high-achieving nursing students.

The STEM Honors Scholarship awards five thousand dollars per year to incoming first-year students with a high school GPA of 3.85 or higher who intend to pursue a Grand View science, technology, pre-engineering, or mathematics program. Recipients must attend a Scholarship Day event in November or February to compete for the award. The scholarship renews for four years with full-time day enrollment and continuous enrollment in an eligible STEM major. Grand View's STEM programs include biology, chemistry, computer science, data analytics, and pre-engineering pathways for students planning careers in science and technology fields.

The All-State Music Scholarship awards fifteen hundred dollars to full-time day students at Grand View University who participated in a high school all-state music festival for at least one year and demonstrate talent in piano, vocal, or instrumental music regardless of major. Recipients must participate in a Grand View music ensemble and take private lessons each semester. The scholarship renews based on continuous good standing in both ensemble participation and private lessons. Grand View's music program welcomes students of all majors and ability levels into choir, drumline, wind ensemble, and other performing groups on campus.

The Discover Iowa Award provides one thousand dollars per year to new first-year students from outside Iowa who visit Grand View's campus through a qualifying admissions event. Eligible visits include individual admissions appointments, academic action days, admissions preview days, scholarship day events, and admissions visit days. Only one Discover Iowa Award is offered per student, and the award renews for up to four years. Attending Scholarship Day can satisfy the visit requirement for out-of-state students who have not yet completed a qualifying campus visit. Students must enroll as full-time day undergraduates at Grand View.

The Viking Alumni Referral Scholarship awards one thousand dollars per year for four years to new full-time day first-year or transfer students referred to Grand View by a non-parent alumnus who earned an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree from Grand View. The alumni nomination form must be submitted by December 1 of the student's senior year of high school or before the fall term of enrollment for transfer students. Children of Grand View alumni are ineligible because they receive the separate Alumni Child Scholarship instead. Each student may receive this referral award only once, though alumni may refer unlimited unique students.

The Scholarship Competition Award gives one thousand dollars to every first-year student who attends a Grand View Scholarship Day event but does not win a higher-level competition award. Scholarship Day invites admitted first-year students to campus for a fifteen-minute personal interview and optional campus tour, with awards tiered by existing merit scholarship level. All non-winning attendees receive this guaranteed one-thousand-dollar award. Out-of-state students attending Scholarship Day may also satisfy the visit requirement for the Discover Iowa Award. Students compete only against peers at their scholarship tier during the interview portion of the event.
