Scholarships at University of Georgia

The CURO Honors Scholarship is UGA's top undergraduate research scholarship, administered by the Morehead Honors College and the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities. Graduating high school seniors applying for first-year admission must submit a separate CURO application by January 15. Recipients receive $3,000 per year, renewable for up to four years while engaging in research activities. Twenty CURO Promising Scholars are invited to interview; final recipients are selected from that group. Prior research experience is not required.

The Georgia Power Engineering Scholarship Fund supports undergraduates enrolled in an engineering degree program at the UGA College of Engineering. Awards go to entering freshmen or current first-year engineering students, with recipients eligible to reapply in subsequent years through their fourth year depending on the initial award year. Selection is made by the Engineering Scholarship Committee based on academic performance and a one-page statement describing interest in engineering and career goals. College of Engineering scholarship applications are due February 28 each year.

The Foundation Fellowship is the University of Georgia's top academic scholarship, administered through the Morehead Honors College. Incoming first-year students must submit a separate Foundation Fellowship application by November 1 after applying for UGA first-year admission. In-state Fellows receive a $15,750 annual stipend plus Zell Miller Scholarship eligibility; out-of-state Fellows receive a $25,930 stipend plus a Presidential tuition waiver; international Fellows receive a $30,000 stipend plus a Presidential waiver. Benefits also include funded Oxford Maymester study, spring travel-study, and research grants.

UGA Stamps Scholars are selected through the Foundation Fellowship application process and receive the same generous benefits as Foundation Fellows, including annual stipends approximating cost of attendance, funded Oxford Maymester study, spring travel-study, and research grants. Six incoming first-year Fellows are nominated each year to interview for the Stamps Scholarship; three second-year Honors students may also be selected as walk-on Stamps Scholars through the Mid-Term Foundation Fellowship. Applicants must submit the Foundation Fellowship application by November 1.
