Scholarships at Denison University

Denison merit-based arts scholarships recognize talented first-year and transfer students in cinema, creative writing, dance, music, music theatre, visual arts, or theatre who submit an arts supplement through the Denison applicant portal after applying via the Common Application or Coalition Application. Awards range from five thousand to fifteen thousand dollars per year and renew for four years regardless of whether the student majors or minors in the arts. Supplements must arrive by November 15 for Early Decision 1 or January 15 for Early Decision 2 and Regular Decision first-year applicants, with separate transfer deadlines. Only one arts scholarship is awarded per student, though supplements in multiple disciplines are welcome.

Denison University participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program alongside Chapter 33 Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits for eligible veterans and service members. Students eligible for one hundred percent of the Post-9/11 GI Bill benefit also receive Yellow Ribbon support from Denison to cover remaining tuition charges not paid by the VA. Applicants should submit a copy of their VA Certificate of Eligibility to the Office of Financial Aid before enrollment and coordinate certification each term with Denison's VA School Certifying Officials. Denison also certifies enrollment for Chapter 35 eligible dependents who submit eligibility documentation to financial aid.

The Denison-Columbus Alliance provides total grant aid of at least full tuition for select high-achieving graduating seniors from Columbus City Schools who work with the I Know I Can college-access program. Up to twenty scholars enter each year, selected on academic records, extracurricular achievement, essays, recommendations, and financial need, with mentoring support continuing through graduation. Applicants obtain the Alliance scholarship application from a high school counselor or I Know I Can College Advising Manager and must also apply for Denison admission. Denison meets any remaining demonstrated need beyond the Alliance award when students complete standard financial-aid forms.
