Scholarships at Case Western Reserve University

Arts Achievement Awards at Case Western Reserve University are ten-thousand-dollar annual scholarships recognizing excellence in music or studio art regardless of a student's intended major. Students auditioning for the BA in Music or BS in Music Education are automatically considered, and students who do not plan to major in music may still be considered by submitting the Music Arts Supplement through the applicant portal. Dance, studio art, and theater applicants may also arrange department auditions or portfolio reviews. All materials submitted by February 1 are considered, with final decisions by March 1 and notification shortly thereafter by Undergraduate Admission.

Case Western Reserve University Leadership Scholarships recognize first-year applicants who display outstanding leadership in academic and extracurricular pursuits. Awards range between two thousand and five thousand dollars per year and are selected through the competitive scholarship application process alongside other admission-based awards. Applicants must submit a complete undergraduate admission application by the applicant deadline and a complete scholarship competition application by February 15. Winners are notified by April 1. Recipients must remain enrolled full time and in good standing for renewal under standard CWRU merit scholarship policies for up to eight semesters.

Prospective Case Western Reserve University students planning to major, minor, or participate in theater may audition or present a portfolio for merit scholarships from the Department of Theater. Six scholarships are awarded each year: four full-tuition awards for theater majors and two $10,000 awards for theater minors, renewable for four years. International students are eligible. Apply to CWRU, attend required theater events including an audition or portfolio presentation, and submit supplemental documents. Winners are notified in mid-March.

The A.W. Smith Innovation Scholarship awards two full-tuition scholarships to first-year applicants who have shown exceptional achievement in hands-on engineering or science through a successful project at Case Western Reserve University. It is open to incoming students planning to study engineering, the physical sciences, or mathematics. Applicants must submit a complete admission application and a complete scholarship competition application by February 15. Selection is part of the university's competitive scholarship process, and winners are notified by April 1. A tuition-level award replaces any prior CWRU scholarship or grant on the student's aid package.

The Milton A. and Roslyn Z. Wolf Scholarship is a four-year comprehensive award for first-year students at Case Western Reserve University covering tuition, room, board, fees, books, and elective summer experiences that provide life-shaping practical knowledge. Selection prioritizes character or demonstrated leadership potential first, then academic performance, intellect, and accomplishments. All first-year applicants may apply through the scholarship competition; a complete admission application and competition materials are due by February 15, with winners notified by April 1. Financial need may be used as a selection factor. Students otherwise eligible for full-tuition CWRU benefits are not eligible.
