Scholarships at Bethany Lutheran College

The Jenson Memorial Music Scholarship at Bethany Lutheran College recognizes advanced music students, with priority given to those interested in church music ministry. It is one of three music talent awards alongside the general Music Scholarship and Private Lesson Scholarship, and values fall within Bethany’s seven-hundred-to-two-thousand-dollar annual talent range. Students must be admitted to Bethany and complete the talent scholarship application by the November 25 priority deadline; the final deadline is January 31. Continued ensemble participation and scholarship standards are required for renewal.

The Marvin G. Meyer Scholarship is Bethany Lutheran College’s most competitive academic award for entering freshmen, honoring former president Dr. Marvin G. Meyer and supporting students who desire a Christian education. One freshman each year receives full tuition, renewable for four years, based on scholarship, character, and values that exemplify Bethany. Candidates must first qualify for a Presidential Scholarship with a 26 ACT or 1240 SAT and 3.6 GPA, then complete additional requirements including an on-campus interview and timed essay. The application deadline is February 28 for fall enrollment, with interviews held in March.

The Promise MN Grant at Bethany Lutheran College helps Minnesota residents with financial need cover the full cost of tuition when combined with the Federal Pell Grant and Minnesota State Grant. Eligible students must hold at least a 2.75 GPA and qualify for both the Minnesota State Grant and Federal Pell Grant as determined by FAFSA results. Residential students who receive the Promise MN Grant may also receive a discounted room-and-board rate. Applicants complete the Promise MN Grant Application Form for requirements, limitations, and additional details beyond the standard admission and financial aid process.
