Scholarships at King's University College at Western University

A London District Catholic School Board graduate enrolling full-time at King's University College with at least an 80% admission average and strong volunteer service in health, education, social service, or pastoral ministry may receive the Sisters of St. Joseph Scholarship. One $5,000 entrance scholarship. Recipients are expected to continue volunteering in one of those areas and may be eligible for the King's Continuing Scholarship in later years. Apply with references from teachers or counsellors and from the volunteer site, plus a written statement explaining why you deserve the award. Interviews may be required. Honors the Sisters of St. Joseph; endowed by St. Joseph's Health Centre, the London District Catholic School Board, the Monsignor Feeney Foundation, and the King's College Foundation.

King's University College entrance students who are graduates of St. Mary's in West Lorne may apply. If no St. Mary's graduate applies, a student from the Municipalities of West Elgin or Dutton/Dunwich may be eligible. Applicants must be Ontario residents who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents and must demonstrate financial need. One $2,500 entrance award is available. In first year, it may be held concurrently with other King's entrance scholarships. Submit a separate application by April 30. The award is funded by a bequest from Mrs. Agnes Coleman.

A student registered in the BSW (Honours) program at King's University College who demonstrates volunteer community service and financial need may receive the Social Work Award. One $1,000 award. Open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons who are Ontario residents as defined by OSAP. Apply between August 1 and September 30.

King's University College students experiencing financial difficulty who do not qualify for other King's bursaries are eligible, including students facing a financial emergency such as unexpected medical expenses not covered by provincial or federal funding. Bursary support is granted on a student-by-student basis according to need. Apply through King's competitive scholarships and awards application. Bursaries are intended to supplement other sources of funding such as OSAP and personal or family resources.
