Scholarships at NAIT

Mature students who have been out of high school for three years or more and are entering the Industrial Heavy Equipment Technology program are eligible. You must be an Alberta resident. Awards are based on academic achievement and financial need. The award is worth $2,000. One award is available.

For students entering second year in the Instrumentation Engineering Technology program at NAIT. Selection is based on academic achievement and contribution to the ISA Student Club; candidates must also demonstrate financial need. One award of $1,500. Apply through NAIT MyAwards Central when the application window is open.

Open to students confirmed as enrolled in the full-time NAIT Water and Wastewater Technician program at the Edmonton campus (Winter or Fall intake) who show interest in a water and wastewater career, leadership or community involvement, and strong academic credentials. Scholarships of $1,500 each are paid in two instalments of $750 after successful completion of the first semester and after successful completion of the final two semesters. Apply with a typed resume, a short essay (max 500 words), and academic records. Incomplete applications are disqualified.

Second-year students enrolled in the Forest Technology program or the Biological Sciences Renewable Resources program at NAIT. Two awards of $1,000 are available. Recipients are chosen on academic achievement, leadership qualities, and potential to make substantial contributions to renewable resources management. Financial need may also be considered. Students are considered through the NAIT awards application.

Second-year apprenticeship students at NAIT in Boilermaker, Crane and Hoisting Equipment Operator, Gasfitter, Heavy Equipment Technician, Instrument Technician, Machinist, Millwright, Steamfitter/Pipefitter, Structural Steel and Plate Fitter, or Welder programs may qualify. The scholarship awards $1,000. Selection is based on academic achievement in both NAIT and provincial exams during the second year of apprenticeship. Apply through NAIT MyAwards Central.
