Scholarships at Douglas College

For new international students from any country who have already applied to Douglas College. The Dr. Guangwei Ouyang International Education Entrance Scholarship is a $2,500 award based on previous academic performance and engagement in school, community, and/or personal development. A separate application is required. Complete the entrance scholarship form (PDF) and email it with supporting documents to Douglas International by the semester deadline (Summer: January 31; Fall: May 31; Winter: September 30).

Douglas College students with a disability, or students training to work with persons with disabilities in the Health Care Support Worker or Therapeutic Recreation programs, may receive this bursary if they have satisfactory academic achievement. The award recognizes outstanding practicum work by Douglas College students at Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children, established in 1989.

Douglas College students enrolled in the Sport Science Diploma or Bachelor of Physical Education and Coaching degree programs who are considered top students by faculty in that department are eligible for this coaching award. Douglas College students in financial need who are studying in the General and Psychiatric Nursing programs may apply for the Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation Bursary. For Douglas College students enrolled in the Legal Studies Diploma program or the Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate or Citation programs who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. Douglas College Hospitality Management students may apply for this award, which honours longtime Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration Dean Jim Sator. The award value varies. Application deadlines are February 1, June 1, and October 1. The award was created in 2004 by Hospitality Management students and updated in 2016 when the program changed its name. Additional donations were made after Jim Sator's passing in 2014.

Douglas College students enrolled in a university transfer Music program, Stagecraft and Event Technology, or Theatre program who show academic excellence, hard work, leadership, and enthusiasm in their area of study may apply. One award of merit is granted; the amount varies. Apply through Douglas College by the winter deadline of February 1.
