Prince Edward Island Scholarships

Current residents of one of the four Atlantic provinces entering first year of any Queen's University undergraduate degree. Selection considers academic excellence, leadership, school or community involvement, and demonstrated financial need. Up to 10 renewable awards of $20,000 to $30,000 per year for up to four years of study. Submit a Financial Aid and Awards Profile and the Major Admission Awards application.

Students graduating from a PEI high school who are entering the University of Prince Edward Island and demonstrate potential to contribute to the province's long-term development. Recipients must show aptitude or interest in cultural or artistic life. $5,000 in the first year, renewable for up to three further years with 75% standing in year one and 80% in years two through four on a full course load. Apply by March 1.

Students entering first year at the University of Prince Edward Island may be considered for the Frederick M. Davison Award for Excellence. The Scholarship and Awards Committee looks for strong academic achievement (not necessarily the highest high school aggregate) plus dedication and a desire to make a difference in the community. One award of up to $4,500. An application is required. Established in memory of Frederick M. Davison, a Prince Edward Island businessman and community volunteer, through a bequest from his widow Helen Whitenect.

Second-year University of Prince Edward Island students from rural Prince Edward Island may receive this scholarship, with one recipient selected from each county. The award is $2,000. Selection is based on financial need and achievement in the first year of a university program. Apply through the UPEI scholarship portal by the October 1 deadline.

UPEI undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a project related to breast cancer care, prevention, and/or cure may receive this $2,000 award (1 available). Submit application materials to the Scholarships and Awards Committee by the October 1 deadline.

Indigenous women from Mi'kma'ki, Nunatsiavut, or Atlantic Canada who attend a Canadian post-secondary institution may apply. Applicants must have completed the equivalent of one year of post-secondary study within the previous two years. Awards of $500 to $2,000 are based on scholastic achievement, service to Indigenous communities, and financial need. Apply through CFNS's Cognito Forms portal by July 30 each year. The fund honors Inuk scholar and MMIWG advocate Loretta Saunders, established in 2014.

Open to a returning student with a declared major or minor in Computer Science and an overall average of 70% or greater. One award of $1,235 is available.

Open to a University of Prince Edward Island student entering third or fourth year in Arts or Business, based on academic achievement. Students already receiving $1,000 or more in the same academic year are ineligible. One award of $1,200. Apply online; deadline August 31.

Holland College students entering their first year of a full-time Holland College program who demonstrate financial need and academic achievement. One Faculty Association award of about $1,140. Apply through Holland College AcademicWorks.

Open to a UPEI graduate who has been accepted as a candidate for graduate studies in psychology and can provide evidence of acceptance from the university where they will study. One award of $1,000 is given. Applicants must submit proof of graduate admission in psychology.
