Political Science Scholarships in Canada

Graduating fourth-year honours political science students at York University's Keele Campus are eligible for this scholarship. The recipient must have the highest grade point average calculated on political science courses only, with a minimum of 30 political science credits completed. Up to three scholarships of $275 each may be awarded if there is a tie. No application is required.

McMaster University graduating students who completed a political science program primarily on a part-time basis with high averages are eligible for this prize, as determined by the Department of Political Science. One prize of $200 is awarded. No application is required.

Political science majors in York University's Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies at the Keele Campus are eligible for this award. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons who are residents of Ontario and demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to students who have completed at least 60 credits with a minimum cumulative GPA of 6.00 (B). One award of $1,850 is given. Apply through Student Financial Services.

Graduating students on the University of New Brunswick Saint John campus who have shown a high level of achievement and interest in political science are eligible for this book prize, on the recommendation of the Department of History and Politics (Politics Discipline). One book prize is awarded annually. The value varies.

Open to University of Regina undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science who have completed at least 60 credit hours, maintain an 80% UGPA, are registered in at least 9 credit hours in the award semester, and have completed or are enrolled in ACSC 116, 216, and 317. One $2,500 award is available.

Graduate or undergraduate students in the Department of Political Science at UBC may qualify. Scholarships from an endowment totalling $1,350 are available; per-recipient amounts vary within the pool. There is no separate application. The Department of Political Science recommends recipients. The fund was endowed by alumni and friends of the Department.

Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected/refugee-status students registered full-time in undergraduate, master's, or doctoral programs at the University of Ottawa School of Political Studies who are Ontario residents with financial need may apply. Preference is given to female students. One OSOTF scholarship of $500 is awarded. Apply via uoZone by November 3 with the Financial Questionnaire. The Political Science Professors Scholarship assists Political Studies students whose education would otherwise be compromised.

University of Lethbridge graduates or alumni with a Political Science or Public Policy major (or related field) pursuing graduate studies anywhere may receive this award. Preference goes to recent graduates (within three years of BA completion) with a minimum GPA of 3.3. No application is required. The award is valued at $500.

University of Windsor Political Science undergraduates with demonstrated financial need who meet OSOTF II citizenship and Ontario residency requirements. Two bursaries of $1,200 are available. Apply online through the UWinAward profile. Funded through general donations to the OSOTF II Political Science fund.

Simon Fraser University undergraduate political science students graduating with an honours or major in political science may receive the Rama Reddy Political Science Award, given to the top graduating student by CGPA. The cash prize amount varies. One award is given annually in the summer term. No application is required.
