Mechanical Engineering Scholarships in Canada

U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and U.S. dual citizens who intend to pursue a doctoral degree in a DoD-relevant science or engineering discipline at a U.S. institution may apply for the National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship. Baccalaureate, master's, and early-stage PhD candidates are eligible. The three-year fellowship covers full tuition and required fees (excluding room and board), a $3,600 monthly stipend ($43,200 annually), and health insurance support up to $1,600. The award is $3,000, with a minimum of one recipient. For a student in the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical, Automotive and Materials Engineering (MAME) at the University of Windsor, in semester four or higher. Preference is given to a student enrolled in the Automotive Engineering option. Based on academic excellence with a minimum 80% cumulative average; financial need may be considered. Students must also outline volunteer and extracurricular activities. One award of $1,500 is available annually. Apply online. Queen's University Smith Engineering students in second, third, or fourth year of Mechanical Engineering with demonstrated financial need may apply for the Arthur Smith Bursary in Mechanical Engineering. The bursary amount varies. Apply to Financial Aid and Awards by October 31. Established in 2003 by Arthur E. Smith, B.Sc. (Mech. Eng.) 1934.

Queen's University Smith Engineering students in second, third, or fourth year of a Mechanical Engineering plan with demonstrated financial need and academic achievement may receive this award. Undergraduate students in the University of Toronto Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering who demonstrate financial need may receive the N.Z. Samuels Undergraduate Award UTAPS. Preference is given to Black and/or Indigenous students. Award amounts are based on demonstrated financial need through the UTAPS program.
