Environmental Science Scholarships in Canada

Full-time undergraduate students in the Environmental Sciences Program at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Science who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected/refugee status holders, Ontario residents (per OSAP rules) with financial need, and in good academic standing. Open to sixth-semester students in the Bachelor of Applied Technology Petroleum Engineering program at SAIT who demonstrate financial need and academic achievement. Preference is given to women or Indigenous students. Five $4,000 awards are available. Apply through mySAIT Student Awards and Financial Aid. Sponsored by the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP/EPAC).

University of Guelph students in Environmental Sciences or the Bio-Resource Management Environmental Management major who have completed at least 4.0 credits may receive this $3,200 scholarship. Candidates need demonstrated leadership and financial need; preference goes to students with a farming background. Submit the In-Course Financial Need Assessment Form and the named scholarship application by October 7.

High school students entering an undergraduate Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences program at the University of Alberta with an admission average of roughly 95% or above may apply for a Dean's Entrance Citation in Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences through the faculty entrance scholarship application. The citation is $2,500. Renewal in years two through four requires a minimum 3.5 GPA on at least 24 credits in ALES each academic year.

University of Toronto School of the Environment full- or part-time undergraduates enrolled in a School program may apply. Preference goes to students focusing on environment and development, though other environmental students remain eligible. One or more awards of $2,000. Seneca Polytechnic full-time Environmental Landscape Management students who show interest or aptitude for golf course groundskeeping may receive the Golf Course Technician Alumni Award. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons, Ontario residents, and demonstrate financial need. One award of $1,900 is available. The recipient is recommended by faculty.

Entering or continuing full-time thesis-based MA, MSc, or PhD students at the University of Lethbridge who are conducting environmental-related research may apply. Preference is given to self-identified Indigenous students, and priority is given to applicants with financial need. The award is $1,500. Selection considers academic achievement. Undergraduate students in the Faculty of Environment studying park planning and management or wildlife conservation with a demonstrated interest in a career in that field are eligible. Third- and fourth-year students with a satisfactory academic record may apply. One award of up to $1,000 is presented annually. The Nicol family established this award to honour their parents and Jack Nicol's work with Parks Canada.

Alberta residents continuing post-secondary education in an agricultural or environmental science program may apply for this bursary through their local Agricultural Fieldman. Five regional bursaries of $1,000 each are available each calendar year. Submit applications with supporting documentation by September 1.

For an Acadia University undergraduate studying environmental subjects or international affairs who demonstrates financial need. One bursary of $1,000 from the Royal Canadian Regiment Association. Recipients are typically nominated from ESST, Political Science, and Environmental Science.
