Electrical Engineering Scholarships in Canada

Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis) or Black (African Canadian, Caribbean Canadian, or Afro-Caribbean heritage) PhD candidates who meet admission requirements for a Faculty of Engineering PhD program at the University of Ottawa and are Canadian citizens or permanent residents are eligible. Open to undergraduate students entering year two of chemical, computer, electrical, environmental, mechanical, or software engineering. In support of employment equity, eligible candidates are women, Aboriginal Canadians, persons with disabilities, or visible minorities who have achieved a minimum 75% average in first year and demonstrated strong communication skills, leadership, and extracurricular involvement. Ontario Power Generation provides one award valued at $2,400. Interested students should apply during their 1B term. The successful candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada upon graduation.

Students in their third semester of the Instrumentation Engineering Technology program at SAIT's MacPhail School of Energy may apply. Candidates should demonstrate financial need, be in good academic standing, and show a positive attitude and application of skills. Two awards of $2,250 each are granted for the Winter semester. Open to self-declared Métis Saskatchewan residents enrolled or planning to enroll full-time at a Saskatchewan post-secondary institution in an ICT-related program such as engineering (electrical, electronic, or telecommunications), business administration or commerce, computer science, or another field related to SaskTel. Applicants must show academic ability and financial need. Eight awards of $2,000 are available. Submit a statement of no more than one page on leadership and community involvement, including a 50-word biography. Canadian citizens, permanent residents, protected/refugee status holders, or international students enrolled full- or part-time in the University of Ottawa Faculty of Engineering or Faculty of Science who are single mothers and demonstrate financial need may apply.
