Chemical Engineering Scholarships in Canada

Outstanding students entering second year Chemical Engineering at UBC Vancouver may be nominated for this scholarship. A $550 scholarship endowed through donations from the pulp and paper and petroleum industries and former students is awarded on department recommendation. There is no separate application.

Full-time undergraduate students in years 2 through 4 of Toronto Metropolitan University's Chemical Engineering Co-op program (Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science), or accelerated MASc students in the 6th or 7th semester, with clear academic standing and a high cumulative GPA after each completed year, may apply. The award is $500. Apply through TMU AwardSpring.

University of Alberta chemical engineering students who attain the highest standing in the final year of the program may receive the Chemical Engineering Faculty Prize. The prize provides $500. Selection is by department recommendation; no application is required.

University of Alberta students with superior academic achievement who complete the qualifying year in the Faculty of Engineering and enter second year in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering may be considered for the Chemical Engineering Entrance Scholarships. Five awards of $1,000 each are made annually based on academic achievement in a full, normal course load during the past year. Recipients are chosen by department recommendation; no separate application is typically required.

University of Toronto Chemical Engineering students completing first year and proceeding to second year may receive the Ransom Scholarship in Chemical Engineering for outstanding academic achievement in first year. The award amount varies (annual income from a perpetual endowment). One award is available.

University of Alberta Faculty of Engineering students with superior academic achievement entering the second year of a Bachelor of Engineering with a major in Chemical Engineering are considered for this endowed Cenovus Energy scholarship. Up to two awards are available; the value varies. Selection is based on academic standing. Apply through the U of A Awards Hub.

Open to an outstanding McGill University undergraduate in the Department of Chemical Engineering who has completed at least one year of study, on the basis of high academic standing. One scholarship of $5,000. No application required. Established by Dr. David T. Fung and Grace Fung.

University of Alberta students with superior academic achievement who, after completing the qualifying year in the Faculty of Engineering, enter second year in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering chemical engineering program may be considered for this entrance scholarship. One scholarship of $750 is awarded annually by the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering Edmonton Section. Recipients are chosen on academic standing, leadership qualities, and contributions to extracurricular or community activities.

Undergraduate chemical engineering students at UBC Vancouver who demonstrate academic excellence may be nominated for these scholarships. Scholarships of varying amounts are endowed by friends and family in memory of Hamad Ahmad (B.A.Sc. 2007). No separate application is required; the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering makes recommendations.

Fourth-year undergraduate students in Chemical Engineering at UBC Vancouver who show diligence in the fundamentals of Chemical Engineering, demonstrated through their projects and courses, are eligible for this $1,700 award. There is no separate application. The award is made on the recommendation of the Department of Chemical Engineering. The award was established through an endowment by Henry Wakabayashi, his wife Yvonne and their daughters Beth and Wendy to honour Dr. Norman Epstein, Henry's professor in 1958, in appreciation of Dr. Epstein's influence, encouragement and support of his students.
