Agriculture Scholarships in Canada

University of Guelph student in B.Sc.(Agr.) Crop, Horticulture and Turfgrass Sciences or Crop Science, or B.Sc. Plant Science, who has completed at least 14.0 credits with a 70% cumulative average, an interest in crop production, and demonstrated financial need. One award of $1,500. Apply by October 7 with an In-Course Financial Need Assessment Form.

Final-year University of Alberta students in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences who are majoring in Animal Science may receive this $1,000 scholarship. Selection favors demonstrated interest in livestock and poultry nutrition. Apply through the university's AcademicWorks portal by March 31 with a letter outlining your interest and future plans, plus reference letters from a previous employer and a faculty member.

Entering or continuing full-time Master of Arts or Master of Science students at the University of Lethbridge who are conducting agriculture-related research and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher may apply. One award of $1,000 is available. Apply online through the University of Lethbridge awards portal. The award is funded by friends and family of Blaine Thacker.

Second-year Ag & Heavy Equipment Diploma student; GPA of 2.00 or better; exhibits leadership, intensity and desire; financial need considered.

University of Guelph Ontario Agricultural College students in any OAC program with a minimum 70% cumulative average who plan travel related to course study. One grant of up to $750. Apply with a letter of no more than two pages outlining the intended travel opportunity.

Canadian citizens enrolled in the Land and Water Resources program at Olds College who exhibit leadership, intensity, and desire, with satisfactory scholastic achievement (GPA 2.0 or greater) and demonstrated financial need, are eligible. Three awards of $700 each are granted.

For University of Guelph O.A.C. undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need who also meet the government-mandated terms for an OSOTF award. Several need-based bursaries are available; the number and value can vary. Students are considered through the university’s financial need assessment process for OSOTF/access awards.

Open to a Veterinary Technician student at Northern College who contributes the most to the overall success of the class. One $200 award is available. Apply through the Northern College Student Financial Assistance portal.

University of Saskatchewan College of Agriculture and Bioresources students entering or continuing in a Master's or Doctoral program who have demonstrated an interest in sustainable agriculture may be considered for the Agro Class of '43 60th Anniversary Award. The award amount varies. Interest in sustainable agriculture is determined by the Award Committee. Apply through the college graduate awards process. The award was established by donations from the Class of 1943.

University of Guelph students registered in BSAG or the Agricultural Economics major offered by the Department of FARE who have completed a minimum of 12.0 credits and demonstrated financial need may receive this bursary. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons. Several awards of varying amounts are available. Apply to Student Financial Services with a completed Financial Need Assessment Form by October 7; students are considered automatically once the form is submitted. Established by the estate of Dr. J.
