Accounting Scholarships in Canada

Open to undergraduate students with a major or minor in the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University who are in good academic standing. Nominees must show an understanding of good corporate citizenship, integrity, and ethics through completed coursework in corporate social responsibility or business ethics and/or community activity demonstrating social responsibility. Two awards of $4,000 each are granted annually. The Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee selects recipients on the recommendation of the Beedie School of Business executive director.

Second-year SAIT students majoring in financial services within the Business Administration program in the School of Business may apply. Financial need, academic achievement, and community service are required. International students are eligible. One $4,000 school-specific award is available for the Fall semester. Apply through mySAIT Student Awards and Financial Aid by September 28.

Students entering the Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality at the University of Prince Edward Island after completing two years at Holland College who performed well academically and show leadership, community contribution, and commitment to the tourism industry may qualify. The scholarship provides up to $3,590. One award is granted annually. Apply through UPEI student awards by the October 1 deadline.

Open annually to a continuing undergraduate entering second year in the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. Selection is based on academic merit. One scholarship of up to $2,600 is available. This is an undergraduate nominated award for continuing students. Applicants must submit a covering letter and a 300-word essay on the importance of business etiquette. Donated by the Arthur J.E. Child Foundation.

Full-time Western University undergraduates in the concurrent Engineering Science and Honours Business Administration degree program who demonstrate financial need and maintain at least a 70% average may apply. Ontario residency is required (OSOTF). One award of $2,500 is offered annually. Apply through Student Center and the Engineering Undergraduate Services award application by September 30.

University of Guelph students registered in a program offered by the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics who have completed between 5.0 and 17.5 credits, with demonstrated financial need and exemplary leadership through on- or off-campus volunteer activities, may apply. OTSS eligibility is required. One $2,400 scholarship is available. Apply through the university's student finance awards application by October 7.

Canadian citizens, permanent residents, protected/refugee status holders, or international students enrolled full-time as Telfer School of Management undergraduates at the University of Ottawa with demonstrated financial need and academic excellence may apply. One award of $2,250 is available. Submit via uoZone with the Financial Questionnaire. Applications are due November 3. The Brian J. Saxe Scholarship at the Telfer School of Management supports an undergraduate Telfer student in financial need.

Full-time University of Windsor students in Business, Engineering, or Science who demonstrate financial need and hold a minimum cumulative average of 83% may apply. Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents (including protected persons) residing in Ontario. Preference goes to students from the Chatham/Kent area. Eight awards of $1,500 are available. Apply online.

University of Victoria Peter B. Gustavson School of Business Bachelor of Commerce students specializing in International Business (including graduating students) may receive one or more Henry & Marian Thiel International Business Awards of at least $1,500 each. Submit a maximum 500-word essay to bcomasst@uvic.ca by July 15 outlining why you are pursuing the International Business specialization, career goals, accomplishments that show interest in international business, and financial need. Recipients are approved by the Senate Committee on Awards on the recommendation of the School.

Continuing Haskayne School of Business undergraduates majoring in Accounting who have successfully completed two accounting industry placements are eligible. Selection is based on work-term reports, performance evaluations, and an employer's letter of recommendation. Academic merit and extracurricular activities may also be considered.
