Accounting Scholarships in Canada

Third- or fourth-year students at SAIT enrolled in the Bachelor of Applied Business Administration or Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting major) within the School of Business who demonstrate financial need and outline why they chose accounting and what excites them about the future of the field. One $3,000 school-specific award is offered for the Winter semester. Apply through mySAIT Student Awards and Financial Aid by February 28.

Second-, third-, or fourth-year full-time accounting students at the Telfer School of Management with a CGPA of 7.0 or higher who are committed to obtaining a CPA designation and have volunteered in Telfer or broader community activities may apply. Open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, protected/refugee status holders, and international students. The award is valued at $2,000 or more. Apply via uoZone by November 3 with a CV and a letter on your CPA commitment. The BDO Accounting Scholarship, supported by BDO Canada, rewards academically strong accounting students who also show community involvement.

Undergraduate students who have declared a major in accounting (and been accepted to that major if applicable) and are residents or citizens or permanent residents of Australia, the U.S., or Canada may apply. Applicants need a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and must meet the program's credit-hour and intermediate accounting course requirements. The Excellence Accounting Scholarship is $5,000 per year. Submit a proposal on "The capabilities of accounting and marketing in small business" along with the full application sections (personal and academic information, documents, letter of recommendation, and proposal) to the Alliance Recruitment Agency scholarship contact. Winners are selected by an Alliance panel.

Douglas College students enrolled in accounting programs who demonstrate financial need. The Accounting Faculty Bursary provides variable financial support. It was established by Douglas College Accounting faculty members to support accounting students. Apply through the college Scholarship, Bursary and Award Guide in MyAccount during published bursary windows.

UBC Sauder BCom students entering final year with high standing in Intermediate Financial Accounting and demonstrated interest in accounting are eligible. The scholarship is $1,500, provided by KPMG in memory of Thomas A. Cook, B.Comm., FCA. Strong extra-curricular involvement within the university or community is also expected. Recipients are chosen on recommendation of the Sauder School of Business. There is no separate application.

Second-, third-, or fourth-year full-time Bachelor of Commerce students at the Telfer School of Management with a minimum GPA of 6.0, an active interest in accounting, and involvement in Telfer or University of Ottawa student clubs or volunteer events may apply. Two scholarships of $2,000 are available. Apply through Online Scholarships and Bursaries in uoZone with a transcript and CV by November 3.

Full-time francophone undergraduate accounting students at the Telfer School of Management who are enrolled in at least three courses (nine units) in French during the current term, are in good academic standing, show community commitment, and are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, protected persons, or international students are eligible. One award of at least $1,000. Apply through Online Scholarships and Bursaries in uOZone by November 3 with a CV and transcript.

Open annually to continuing undergraduates entering third or fourth year in the Haskayne School of Business with an Accounting concentration at the University of Calgary. Applicants must be members of the Accounting Students' Association, show academic merit, and have earned a B grade or better in ACCT 323 (Introductory Managerial Accounting). Two prizes of up to $500 each are available. Apply through the My UCalgary Portal for Continuing Undergraduate Awards. Donated by the Accounting Students' Association.

Open to a graduating McGill University commerce undergraduate in the accounting area who has maintained high academic standing and contributed to undergraduate accounting activities at McGill. One prize of $300 is awarded annually by the Desautels Faculty of Management Scholarships Committee. Originally established by an endowment from the McGill Accounting Club, with additional contributions from the McGill Accounting Society.

University of New Brunswick Business Administration students who have completed 90 credit hours with high standing in Intermediate Accounting I (ADM 3215 on the Fredericton campus / BA 3235 on Saint John) and Intermediate Accounting II (ADM 3216 / BA 3236) may receive the Deloitte Prize in Accounting. Two prizes of $1,000 are awarded, one to a full-time student on each campus. Funded by Deloitte & Touche.
