About this scholarship

For an outstanding domestic UBC Vancouver student who identifies as Black or Indigenous and is entering the Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science program directly from secondary school or transferring from another post-secondary institution.

The award provides a $15,000 renewable entrance scholarship from Zymeworks Biopharmaceuticals Inc. Recipients must be academically qualified and demonstrate financial need. Subject to continued academic standing, it renews for up to three additional years or until the first undergraduate degree is completed.

Selection also weighs leadership, community service, and extracurricular achievement. Awards are made on the recommendation of the Centennial Scholars Entrance Award Committee. Zymeworks is a Vancouver-based biopharmaceutical company focused on cancer biotherapeutics.
