World Historian Student Essay Competition

Undergraduate students enrolled in or accepted to an accredited U.S. college, university, or trade school who are based in New York or New Jersey and demonstrate financial need may apply. The program supports AANHPI women and allies aligned with Patina Network's mission. U.S. citizens, DACA recipients, and permanent residents are eligible. Two awards of $1,000 each are offered. Applicants submit a 500-word personal statement, FAFSA Student Aid Index documentation, a letter of recommendation, and a transcript. Patina Network aims to foster education opportunities for under-resourced students who show academic potential and community engagement.

Free environmental short-story contest for students in grade 9 and above worldwide. Write an original English short story on the theme Reimagining Our Future, exploring sustainable cities, ecosystem restoration, or youth-led climate solutions grounded in real-world science. Submit through Earth Chronicles by August 22, 2026. First place receives a $50 Amazon gift card, second place $25; outstanding entries may be invited to publish as featured writers on Earth Chronicles.

Bold.org exclusive award honoring Ani Porter for Florida high school seniors with financial need who demonstrate pre-law interest and intent to pursue public defense work. One $1,000 winner. Requires a 400–600 word essay on background, interest in public defense, planned societal impact, and short- and long-term goals.
