WMU Graduate College Dissertation Completion Fellowship

Full-time Western Michigan University doctoral candidates within one year of graduation who have attained candidacy may apply. You must have completed your committee approval, dissertation proposal, qualifying exams, and research tools, with superior academic achievement and no other paid graduate appointments at WMU.

Fellowship amounts vary by cycle. Recipients receive a stipend for up to one year (two semesters and two sessions) plus tuition for one dissertation credit per semester or session.

Apply through the Graduate College competitive fellowship process by the February deadline.

The fellowship assists doctoral students with dissertation completion based on scholarly achievement and the quality of the proposed project.
