About this scholarship
High school juniors and seniors who excel at cornhole and plan to attend Winthrop University may pursue the nation's first NCAA Division I cornhole scholarship. Applicants must be accepted to Winthrop and willing to play on the university team, which trains at American Cornhole League facilities in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Award amounts vary. Early recipients received scholarships worth roughly half of tuition, tied to academic performance rather than athletic rankings.

Winthrop was the first post-secondary institution to offer cornhole scholarships, reflecting the sport's rapid growth near the ACL headquarters in Rock Hill.
