The Wildcat Merit Scholarship at Northern Michigan University is automatically awarded to admitted first-year Michigan residents based on high school GPA with no separate application required. Awards range from two thousand five hundred dollars per year for a 3.0 to 3.49 GPA up to five thousand dollars per year for a 4.0 or higher GPA. NMU uses the higher of weighted or unweighted GPA reported on the official transcript. Scholarships renew for up to eight consecutive semesters while recipients maintain full-time enrollment, a 3.0 cumulative NMU GPA, and satisfactory academic progress toward their first bachelor's degree.
