About this scholarship
Students pursuing a degree in broadcast journalism at an accredited U.S. university or community college may apply. U.S. citizenship is not required. Applicants need a 3.0 GPA or higher and a commitment to a broadcast journalism career. Preference goes to students enrolled in community colleges.
The National Press Club and NPC Journalism Institute administers the Wes Vernon Broadcast Scholarship, which provides $5,000 per year, renewable for up to three additional years ($20,000 total), to support diversity in broadcast journalism.
