Washington State Opportunity Scholarship – Career & Technical Scholarship

The Career & Technical Scholarship (CTS) provides up to $1,500 per quarter, every quarter, toward eligible associate degrees, certificates, or apprenticeships in trade, STEM, and health care programs at Washington's 34 community and technical colleges and two approved apprenticeship sponsors. Funding can cover costs beyond tuition, such as housing, transportation, and food.

Applicants must be Washington state residents (undocumented students may apply); plan to enroll in an eligible health care, STEM, or trades program; have family income that does not exceed 125% of Washington state median family income; and complete the FAFSA or WASFA by the application deadline. The application opens twice a year; the winter-spring 2026-27 cycle opens September 29, 2026 and closes October 15, 2026.
