Walter W Jeffrey Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship supports a graduate student at the University of British Columbia's Vancouver campus engaged in interdisciplinary studies related to water resources. The award is valued at $1,500.

Selection considers not only academic standing but also personal qualities, character, interest, and promise in interdisciplinary land use research; if a suitable candidate is not found in a given year, the scholarship may not be awarded.

It was endowed by Mrs. Jeffrey and friends in memory of Dr. Walter W. Jeffrey, an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Forestry with a special interest in forest hydrology, who lost his life in an aircraft accident in August 1969 while taking part in a water resources study for the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development.
