Virginia residents who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and have lived in Virginia for at least 12 consecutive months may apply for VMFA Visual Arts Fellowships in professional, graduate, undergraduate, or half-year categories.
Award amounts vary by category: $8,000 for professional fellows, $6,000 for graduate, $4,000 for undergraduate, and $2,000 to $3,000 for half-year awards. High school seniors, undergraduates, graduate students, and professional artists each have distinct eligibility rules.
Submit work samples, a resume or CV, an artist statement, and other required materials through the online application. There is no application fee.
