Viola Desmond Student Bursary Award

Black women or gender-diverse Toronto Metropolitan University students enrolled full-time or part-time in an undergraduate, graduate, or continuing education certificate program may be nominated. Nominees must demonstrate financial need, be in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher, agree to be nominated, and show leadership and advocacy within Black communities in areas such as equity, diversity, inclusion, human rights, social justice, and community development.

Bursary recipients receive $1,000. Nominations require a one-page reference letter from a teacher, mentor, employer, or community or faith-based leader.
