About this scholarship
African American high school seniors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who plan to major in education and pursue a teaching career may apply for the Victoria Merchant Saygbay Lifting Individuals Through Education (L.I.T.E.) Scholarship. A minimum 2.75 GPA is required.
Three awards of $1,000 are available.
Submit a completed application with a high-resolution photo, two recommendation letters, an essay of up to 1,000 words, and an official transcript. Finalists may attend a virtual interview with the scholarship committee.
