About this scholarship

The Urban Schools Scholarship supports incoming Grand Valley State University freshmen from select urban high schools who have at least a 3.0 high school cumulative GPA and are admitted by March 1. Michigan residents receive $3,000 per year; non-Michigan residents receive $3,000 plus the out-of-state tuition differential. Recipients must enroll full time, maintain satisfactory academic progress, and are encouraged to participate in structured student success programs on campus. The award renews for three additional years but cannot be combined with the Early Awareness Scholarship or a Native American Tuition Grant. Qualifying high schools are listed on the financial aid website.
