About this scholarship

UBC School of Architecture students who demonstrate the inspirational and humanistic qualities associated with former director Henry Elder.

The award is a $1,500 prize endowed by friends and former students of Elder, who directed the school from 1961 to 1975. Faculty recommend recipients in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate Studies; there is no separate application.

The prize honors Elder's spirit of enquiry and joy in the study of architecture.
