About this scholarship

Entering first-year and transfer students at UC San Diego with outstanding academic achievement are automatically considered for the Regents Scholarship through the UC Application for Admission and Scholarships. U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and California Dream Act students are eligible.

Regents Scholars without demonstrated financial need receive a $5,000 annual honorarium for four years (freshmen) or two years (transfers). California residents with demonstrated financial need may receive additional scholarship or grant funds to meet full need for the same duration.

No separate application is required. Selection is based on academic excellence reflected in the UC admissions application.
