For PhD students in any discipline whose dissertation scholarship links doctoral work to an arena of public benefit and integrates broader, more career-relevant forms of scholarship into their doctoral education, through the UBC Public Scholars Initiative.
Awards of up to $10,000 per student are provided by UBC. They are made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Funding may support innovative dissertation work the student could not otherwise pursue; PSI scholars in good standing may apply once for a renewal of up to $10,000.
