Undergraduate medical students in the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine taking an international elective in Public Health and/or Preventive Medicine outside Canada who demonstrate financial need. U.S. electives are acceptable if they focus on underserved rural or urban areas with documented public health needs and low resources. Applicants must be Ontario residents for at least one year.
The bursary amount varies. Apply through McMaster AwardSpring with a separate cover letter explaining how the elective meets the criteria and a letter of acceptance from the proposed supervisor. Recipients prepare a brief post-elective report and share their experience in a public forum.
