About this scholarship
Members of the Ottawa Jewish community ages 18 to 30 who have shown leadership, academic excellence, and interest in the Jewish community may apply for the George Joseph Cooper Entrance Scholarship. Funds support formal education or apprenticeship in the artistic, literary, or social sciences (for example arts, languages, law, literature, philosophy, psychology, religious studies, or social sciences). MBA, medical, science, and trade programs are excluded.
One award of up to about $20,000 is granted annually. Apply online through the Ottawa Jewish Community Foundation portal.
The award was created from a memorial fund established after George Joseph Cooper's bequest to the OJCF, reflecting his interest in the arts and social sciences.
