About this scholarship

Dalhousie Killam Memorial Scholarship recipients are eligible for the George Cooper Master's and Doctoral Killam Prizes. Each year the top-ranked Killam master's award winner and the top-ranked Killam doctoral award winner are selected.

Recipients receive a $2,500 cash prize and a certificate. Selection considers academic achievement, research proposal, letters of recommendation, and leadership. No separate application is required.

The prizes were inaugurated in 2016 to honour Halifax lawyer and former Killam Managing Trustee George Cooper.
